so. i have been distracted by the good weather. im bike many times a week with Dino and Phil and ride by myself. swimming is out, biking is in. biking kicks ass. i do the park loop road in under an hour. cadillac is a snap and my bike is wearing out. it would be nice to drop 5000 on a new one.

the canoe is coming along. check out the close up of my first ’strip’. after this one has been all squared up. i start the strip process. that is going to rock. but making these strips have been the biggest ass pain. trust me. i should have just bought a set instead of making them from scratch. i need two people to do it and i feel guilty asking my dad.

as nobody knows, i like to send post cards. so much so, that i want to have some printed, of my own work you see. all the post cards around here are photographed through the eyes of one dude, my friend Leslie can tell you this. so my plan is to photograph the island as i see it, in black and white and lots of old buildings. there are no post cards of this kind around. i am going to kill the market and introduce this sometime. but im lazy, so this is a photo of the first try. the post office, every town needs a post card of the post office.

other than this i have been working and trying to meet new people. the spring is now here. very exciting times and i took a bike ride today. this was slow going. im looking at some steel frames to buy but i have so much to save for. the bike, a motorcycle, cheap to save on gas this summer, and i bought canoe plans. i found a place to stay this summer, a cabin free rent. i need to pay utilities and do some yard work in exchange. very cool. i have bought some new music that im into. Ween and a couple of new Cake albums. very good times. indeed.

i landed on Long Pond today. i kick ass. i did this by myself because i have nobody to hang with. this is a picture of the bridge coming onto the island. i had to get a jump start for the plane leaving the airport so i didnt dare turning the old girl off because it was possible she might not start. that would suck. i dont think i could get a jump on long pond. this is why i have no pictures of the pond. i took this from the air as my adrenaline slowed down a bit., i remembered the camera.

i used my GPS the other day. it was cool. traveled the back woods of the island exploring a couple of hills that are park property that have no marked trails. my GPS kicked ass. i was able to navigate around and felt comfortable in my position. there is no way i could have gotten lost. but whatever, it was fun and i marched around for like 4 miles. see ya

flew today. above the clouds at 3000. rarely get to do this with this kind of cloud layer. hard to break through on descents.

for a gift last year Brian and I gave the welfare kids of my sister the first Ninetendo. i tried to show them how to play and demonstrated the A, B button and the little toggle on the control. they sucked at it. i thought it was a complete flop. i didnt get it. when i was a kid the ninetendo was the shit. i figured they were retarded and said fuck it.

this thanksgiving i went to my sisters place. after the meal i heard soem Mario brothers music. my nephew Tim is now pretty dam good at Mario brothers. i was impressed. jumping over the mushroom guys and getting coins. it only took 1 year. not bad. the kid can barely talk because he is deaf but smart enough to figure out soem ninetendo. there is hope.

i joined the Y. i am now kicking ass swimming. the improvement isnt that bad. i started out doing one length and feeling like crap. yesterday i did a lap and a half. i do 50’s for most of the work out and starting next week ill try and throw some 75’s in. its nice getting out of the house in the evening and seeing people at the Y. there’s Jon the triathalete, Sammy the hippie chick that goes to school at COA. and Caroline, the attractive front desk girl that checks me in.
